Special Award Winners and Honorable Mentions

The History Department at CSU-Pueblo would like to congratulate the following Special Award Winners and Honorable Mentions:

Sponsored by the Bessemer Historical Society: Project that best utilizes materials from the CF&I archives.  Two $50 prizes.

 Sponsored by Historic Pueblo, Inc.: Project that best illustrates local (preferably Pueblo) history. Preference will be given to a project that uses the preservation of structures within the community as its focus. $50 prize.
Project Title: Colorado State Hospital:  The Shift from In-Patient to Out-Patient Care
Student: Logan Castro

 Sponsored by the Chicano Studies Department at CSU-Pueblo: Project that best addresses Latino history, with preference given to local/state history. $50 prize.
Project Title: The Fight in the Fields: Cesar Chavez and the Struggle for Worker’s Rights
Students: Brielle Bruce, Katelyn Martinez, Ryan Miller, and Brock Roman

 Sponsored by the Pueblo Weisbrod Aircraft Museum: Group project that best addresses WWI history. $75 prize.
Project Title: The Holocaust:  One Man’s Actions Destroys Millions of People’s Rights

Sponsored by the El Pueblo Museum and the Los Amigos Volunteer Organization: Project that best addresses Colorado History.  Preference will be given to projects that focus on Pueblo history.  $50 prize.
